PURPOSE: A method for driving a plasma display panel is provided to restrain a discharging phenomenon between a couple of sustain electrodes in a non-display period by using a voltage having the same polarity as a ramp waveform to a common sustain electrode in a setup period. CONSTITUTION: A ramp waveform is partially applied to the first electrode in a non-display period. A DC voltage is applied to the second electrode in order to reduce a voltage difference between the first electrode and the second electrode. The DC voltage applied to the second electrode has the same polarity as the ramp waveform applied to the first electrode. The non-display period includes a setup period for supplying the ramp waveform of a rising gradient to the first electrode. In addition, the non-display period for applying the DC voltage to the second electrode corresponds to the non-display period of the remaining subfields except for the first subfield. |
