Monitoring method and device for numerically controlled machine tools

Procedure in which the actual moment of a machine tool spindle is measured and compared with tool data for the tool being used with the machine. A characteristic value for the tool is compared with a maximum value for the tool being used based on the strength of a protective screen element. The tool only rotates at speeds up to which the protective screen is strong enough to withstand an accident. An Independent claim is made for a device for use with the above procedure.
