PURPOSE: An apparatus and method for restoring symbol timing of an OFDM receiver are provided to stably perform restoration of symbol timing not only in a static channel environment but also in a dynamic channel environment. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for restoring symbol timing of an OFDM receiver includes an offset detector(520), an interference detector(540), an offset difference calculator(560), an interpolator(200), and a window controller(300). The offset detector presumes a symbol timing offset value from a Fast-Fourier-Transformed OFDM signal. The interference detector detects interference between symbols of the OFDM signal on the basis of the symbol timing offset value. The offset difference calculator calculates a sampling offset of the OFDM signal. The interpolator compensates sampling timing of the OFDM signal according to the sampling offset calculated by the offset difference calculator. The window controller controls window timing of the OFDM signal on the basis of the detected interference between symbols.
