It has been found that by addition of elastic rubber polymerisates to highly viscous glass fiber reinforced polyamide molding compositions, not only the friability of the shaped parts obtained from the composition can be decreased but also a less rough surface is obtained. A polyamide molding composition containing (wt.%): (A) a thermoplastic, partially crystalline polyamide, i.e. polyamide 6, 66, 46, 610, or 6/6T (47-79), or a partially crystalline copolyamide based on this polyamide, or a mixture of these polyamides; (B) a reinforcing material (0-50); (C) a branching and/or chain lengthening additive (0.1-4), e.g. epoxides; (D) an elastic rubber polymerisate (0.1-30); and (E) a processing additives (0.1-2). An Independent claim is also included for a shaped body and a thermoplastic semifinished product obtained from the composition.
