A needle holder (1) comprises holding means (2) for one or more needles and a panel (5) on which thread codes can be provided. The panel (5), which can be fixedly or detachably connected to the holding means (2), provides information on codes of threads which are passed through the eyes of needles (3) which are inserted in the holding means.
