Process for the production of alkenes

Production of alkenes by dehydration of alcoholates or alcohols having a CH group alpha to the alcoholate or alcohol function involves separately feeding a thermostated solution of the alcoholate/alcohol and a separately-obtained thermostated solution of an acid into a thermostated flow-through reactor where they make contact, and drawing-off the reaction mixture, collecting it and working it up and/or further reacting it.
