PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that a power relay contact detection circuit of a dishwasher and dryer for safety leads to a high cost. SOLUTION: This dishwasher and dryer includes a power relay 16 for turning on/off a power source, a heater 8, a washing pump 9, a safety switch 28 turned on/off according to opening/closing of a cover 3, and a safety switch contact detection circuit 29 for transmitting a signal to a control circuit 27 by detecting an opening/closing state of a contact of the safety switch 28 and the safety switch 28 is connected to the power relay 16 in series and the control means 27 informs about failure of the power relay 16 when determining that the safety switch relay detection circuit 29 is in a closed state while the power relay 16 is not driven and operation is stopped to allow elimination of the power relay contact detection circuit for the power relay 16.
