PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hoisting machine device for an elevator wherein a hoisting machine is installed in a hoistway, the side of a driving sheave faces a wall surface of a hoist way, and a vibration controlling action can be easily obtained. SOLUTION: A hoisting machine 16 is disposed between a wall surface of a hoist way 1 and a car, and the side of a driving sheave 18 is disposed to face the wall surface of the hoist way 1. An upper vibrationproof body 20 and a lower vibrationproof body 21 are disposed in a position corresponding to rim width in the driving sheave 18 in a horizontal projection plane at a corner of a mounting frame 8. The upward load by the main rope 22 is supported by the both, and the hoisting machine 16 is supported by a fixed object 6 of a hoistway 1 with vibration isolation through a mounting frame 8 to prevent propagation of an vibration. In the time of a tension fluctuation of the main rope 22 by fluctuation of the number of passengers in a car, etc., the torque generated by the gap between the load-bearing center of the driving sheave 18 and the center-of-gravity position of the hoisting machine is decreased, and the shake of the hoisting machine 16 is decreased, and a vibration controlling action and riding comfort are improved.
