PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inkjet recorder capable of surely preventing interference between a cleaner unit and a carriage and of miniaturizing a dimension in a widthwise direction. SOLUTION: A capping unit 9 for covering a nozzle face of a recording head 5 is provided to be movable in a direction perpendicular to a moving direction of the carriage 1 having mounted thereon the recording head 5 such that the capping unit 9 can enter an operational region of the cleaner unit 10.
