<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing glycine of high purity and a mineral acid alkali metal salt of high purity without a loss of a large amount of ammonia and glycine, without an increase in environmental loads by wastes and without troublesome operations for purifying the mineral acid alkali metal salt in the manufacture of the glycine and the mineral acid alkali metal salt from an aqueous solution of a glycine alkali metal salt. <P>SOLUTION: This method for manufacturing the glycine and the mineral acid alkali metal salt from the aqueous solution of the glycine alkali metal salt comprises a step for manufacturing an aqueous solution of glycine by passing an aqueous solution of the glycine alkali metal salt through a cation exchange resin thereby effecting ion exchange of the alkali metal ion, a step for manufacturing the mineral acid alkali metal salt by regenerating the cation exchange resin with a mineral acid, and a step, between these two steps, for treating the cation exchange resin with the glycine alkali metal salt. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
