PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an output control device for a passive safety device that can easily discriminate a plurality of slightly different collisions and can precisely respond according to urgency of occupant protection. SOLUTION: The output control device 20 for controlling an output level of a passive safety device mounted on a vehicle 10 has an arithmetic value calculation part 202 for double-integrating deceleration detected by a deceleration detecting means 30 mounted on the vehicle 10 with respect to time, a threshold value decision part 204 for deciding a threshold value depending on the double integral value, and an output level decision part 206 for comparing the threshold value and the deceleration to decide an output level. The use of the double integral value of deceleration enables a precise determination of a segmented urgency of occupant protection. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
