PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ashtray 10 having structure which is user friendly and has no fear of dropping a half-smoked cigarette 14 outside even when placed on the ashtray. SOLUTION: Since the half-smoked cigarette 14 is in a state of its front part being lower than the rear part when the cigarette 14 is placed between the top 11a of the outer peripheral part of the main body of the ashtray and the top 13a of a water storage part 13, the cigarette is dropped from the flamed tip into the main body of the ashtray but not outside the ashtray 10 when the placed cigarette 14 is burned and shortened. When the ashtrays 10 are piled, since the top of the water storage part 13 of the lower ashtray 10 is engaged with the ring channel 15 of the upper ashtray 10, the piled ashtrays 10 hardly collapse and a large number of the ashtrays 10 can be piled. Since the half-smoked cigarette 14 is brought into contact with a flange part 11 by a point contact but not by a face contact when the cigarette is placed, the cigarette 14 is hardly stuck to the flange part 11 with tar.
