PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chum container by which fishing can be carried out well without missing the timing of chumming by constantly keeping a ladle with a handle at a prescribed position. SOLUTION: This chum container has a container body having an opened upper part, and a lid for covering the opened part of the container body so as to be freely opened and closed. A notched part for holding the ladle with the handle is formed at the periphery part of the opened part of the container body. In the other embodiment, a dropping-preventing fragment of the ladle with the handle, protruding in the inner direction of the notched part is formed at the notched part in the above chum container.
