PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a back gauge device capable of detecting sloping of a stretch member, and preventing malfunctioning from being enlarged, by suspending movements of the stretch member before a coupling portion is bent. SOLUTION: The back gauge device is characterized by the feature that an upper and lower table is provided respectively on an up and down position in the front section of a side frame and a punch is provided in the bottom section of the upper table and at the same time, a die is provided on the upper section of the lower table, and when a workpiece to be processed by collaboration of the punch and die is bent by vertically moving either one of the upper or lower table, the back gauge device serves to position the tip end of the workpiece, and the stretch member 19 provided with a plurality of abutments movably in the horizontal direction is arranged by drawing in the horizontal direction, and horizontal both sides of the stretch member 19 are movably provided by a vertically movable means and a slope detector 33 to detect vertical sloping of the stretch member 19 is provided in either of the horizontal both sides of the stretch member 19.
