PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a deformation polygonal member such as a deformation quadrangular member or the like with less materials and at an inexpensive manufacturing cost. SOLUTION: In the method for manufacturing the deformation polygonal member such as the deformation quadrangular member 1 or the like to weld both ends portion by bending a rod-like stock material, the method for manufacturing the deformation polygonal member is characterized by the feature that, after a preliminary forming to bend the rod-like stock material to a form factor or the like similar to a finished product as required, bending is performed by using an inscribed bending jig 4 and a two-contacts circumscribed bending jig 5 having an outline of slightly smaller than the inside form of the product, and the both ends are welded and then, by using the outline of the shape corresponding to the inside form of the product and a shaping jig 10 having a taper portion on the upper part of the region, the shape is adjusted by enlarging and passing the shape from the smaller part to the larger part of the taper portion.
