PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problems wherein the arrangement of brake disks complicates the configuration of motors, joints and gearings between wheels, and the passage of an axle under a body floor hinders the floor from being lowered below an axle top face even when a body is designed as a low floor structure enabling entraining and detraining of a physically handicapped person's wheelchair, and a passage is ensured accordingly. SOLUTION: A gearing has a pinion with a brake disk and has a brake device to enable the adoption of a rubber using elastic wheel to the wheel tread to which a brake is inapplicable. A power device in which a motor and the brake device are arranged at right angles to an axle outside the wheel enables power transmission to an independent wheel and axle. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
