PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and method for molding a hollow body which can mold a hollow molded body of which the joining strength between paired thermoplastic resin sheets is high and wherein no insert exists. SOLUTION: In the hollow body molding apparatus 10, the paired thermoplastic resin sheets 20 disposed at a space inbetween to form a closed space 31 are molded into the hollow molded body. The hollow body molding apparatus has heating parts 34 which heat the resin sheets in the vicinity of the portions pressed by pressing molds 40 when the paired resin sheets softened by heating are contact-bonded with pressure by the pressing mold.
