PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for cutting the lower ends of noodles and recovering the cut lower ends and lower rods. SOLUTION: The upper edge at the front side of a mobile recovery box 1 placed in a manner movable along a lower rod holder of a noodle extension machine is positioned lower than the lower rod held with the lower rod holder, and a blade 8 for cutting the noodles is supported with the recovery box 1 at a position higher than the lower rod and in the planar project of the recovery box 1. The blade 8 cuts the lower end of the noodle string by the forwarding motion of the recovery box 1 and a part of noodles falling from the lower rod are dropped into the recovery box 1. The lower ends of the remaining noodles entangling to the lower rod are dropped into the recovery box 1 together with the lower rod pulled out from the lower rod holder. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
