A container for cooling or heating an object comprises a first section (1) for storing the object, a second section (2) surrounding the first section and an intermediate region (6) between the two sections for substances which produce an endothermic or exothermic chemical reaction when mixed. These substances are kept separately inside a separate flexible packaging which can be inserted into the intermediate region. The dimensions of the packaging are chosen so that they fill out the intermediate region. A device for carrying out the mixing of the two separately kept substances is provided in the container. Preferably one of the storage regions in the packaging has its internal surface at least partly covered with salt material, e.g. ammonium nitrate. The second section of the container is lined with a heat-resistant material, e.g. Flectalon. |
