PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a compound expressed by the formula: CH<SB>2</SB>-Y-CH(COOR<SB>1</SB>)-O- CF<SB>2</SB>CF<SB>2</SB>-SO<SB>2</SB>F, which is used as a raw material for producing fluorosulfonicvinyl ether useful for batteries, catalysts, and the like, and to provide a production method for the fluorosulfonicvinyl ether. SOLUTION: A compound represented by the formula: CH<SB>2</SB>Y-CH(COOR<SB>1</SB>)-O- CF<SB>2</SB>CF<SB>2</SB>-SO<SB>2</SB>F, is fluorinated to obtain an acyl fluoride, the acyl fluoride is hydrolyzed to the corresponding carboxylate and then the resulted carboxylate is pyrolyzed to provide the fluorosulfonicvinyl ether: CF<SB>2</SB>=CF-O-CF<SB>2</SB>CF<SB>2</SB>-SO<SB>2</SB>F.
