PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for scanning a stable arc image when hot wire TIG arc welding is done to control the pulse energization of the wire current. SOLUTION: When a PH method by applying the wire current Iw as the pulse current or a HST method by alternately applying the arc current Ia and the wire current Iw as the pulse current are controlled, a CCD camera and an image controller are synchronized with the scanning signals t<SB>11</SB>, t<SB>12</SB>(t<SB>21</SB>, t<SB>22</SB>, t<SB>31</SB>, t<SB>32</SB>) which are output from a welding controller 11 for doing an image scanning and an image treatment.
