PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric water heater, by which control of electrical conduction is automatically stopped in a time zone low in frequency of service in a living pattern of a user to save poser, and information as to the time during the stopping of the electrical conduction control can be displayed on a display part by a display switch to cause the user to recognize a power saving effect. SOLUTION: The electric water heater comprises a control unit 8 that analyzes actual service conditions stored in a memory means 6 to automatically control electrical conduction to a heater 3 and a display part 8 for displaying the time during stopping of electrical conduction control or a proportion of the time to a fixed period of time and is provided with a change-over selecting switch 9 between an operating mode automatically making electrical conduction control by the control unit and an operating mode optionally making optional control by outside operation and a switch conducting displaying of the display part 8 exclusively independently of each other.
