PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of efficiently producing agreeably drinkable green tea beverage including high concentration of catechins, as the unagreeable smell after the leaf roasting and sterilization is suppressed with occurrence of miscellaneous smells reduced and the bitter taste and astringent taste inherent to catechins are well suppressed. SOLUTION: In the first step, green tea leaves are extracted with water at <10°C, in the second step, the residue after the first extraction is extracted with water at≥50°C. Then, the extract (A) in the first step and the extract (B) in the second step are mixed and the mixture is sterilized to obtain the green tea beverage. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
