PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mortar water-proofing emulsion excellent in spreadability at a low temperature while having a proper strength, and also to provide a cement composition using the emulsion. SOLUTION: This emulsion is an emulsified copolymer which is obtained by copolymerizing ethylene, vinyl acetate and a polyfunctional monomer and has a glass transition temperature (Tg) of -10 to -30°C. The amount of the polyfunctional monomer is 0.1-0.5 pts.wt. based on 100 pts.wt. of vinyl acetate. In the emulsion polymerization of the above three components, polyvinyl alcohol and a nonionic surfactant are used as emulsifiers. The cement composition includes (A) 100 pts.wt. of the above emulsion (on the basis of non-volatile matter), (B) 20-200 pts.wt of cement, and (C) 10-1,000 pts.wt. of sand. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
