<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce noise of an electromyogram (EMG) signal from the abdominal external surface in order to detect the contraction of the uterus. <P>SOLUTION: This system is equipped with an EMG1 sensor which is constituted in such a manner that a first EMG signal is detected and also, a corresponding EMG1 input signal is generated, and an EMG2 sensor which is constituted in such a manner that a second EMG signal is detected and also, a corresponding EMG2 input signal is generated. A signal processor is connected to the EMG1 sensor and the EMG2 sensor. The signal processor processes the EMG1 input signal and the EMG2 input signal by a filter and summing technique and generates an EMG1 noise-reducing signal indicating the size of at least one contraction phenomenon and the cyclic property of a series of a plurality of contraction phenomena. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
