PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a one side light source with a large size in the thickness direction in the set up state from impeding thinning of an optical pickup device when two kinds of light sources with different sizes and shapes are assembled. SOLUTION: The light source arranged on a reflection surface 7a side of a beam splitter 7 between a first light source 2 and a second light source 12 is arranged on a position heightening a light emission point of a light beam than the other side light source, and the beam splitter 7 is arranged so that the reflection surface 7a is provided with an elevation angle so as to make to coincide the optical axis of the light beam from the light source with the higher light emission point with the optical axis of the light beam from the other side light source. Then, while sharing an optical system arranged on a recording medium side than the beam splitter 7 with the first light source 2 and second light source 12, by arranging the light source with the large size in the thickness direction on the reflection surface 7a side of the beam splitter 7, the size of the optical pickup device in the thickness direction is prevented from being expanded. |
