摘要 PURPOSE:To enable a hydrogen storage alloy to be quantitatively evaluated in a short time by measuring the oxygen concentration of the alloy, and evaluating the corrosion resistance of the alloy. CONSTITUTION:The oxidized amount of a hydrogen storage alloy changes, when the amount of cobalt in the alloy is, for example, made to vary. On the basis of this fact, electric discharge is made to occur while the alloy is being kept at oxygen generation potential in an alkaline solution. Then, the oxygen concentration of the alloy is measured to evaluate the corrosion resistance thereof on the basis of measurement results. In this case, the measurement of oxygen concentration can be completed in one or two days, thereby enabling the alloy to be evaluated in a short time and quantitatively, and workability at a quality control process or the like can be remarkably enhanced.
