PURPOSE: An automatic extension switching method and a device therefor are provided to extract CID(Calling Identification Display) information, and to compare the extracted information with information of a server and a DB, so as to connect with an extension of a corresponding consultant if a consultation history exists. CONSTITUTION: A controller recognizes CID information of a call from a customer. The controller delivers an announcement to the customer and transmits the recognized CID information to a server. The server searches whether the CID information exists in a DB. If so, the server searches corresponding customer information. If corresponding customer information exists, the server transmits the customer information including an extension of a consultant in charge to the controller. The controller connects the call of the customer to the extension and activates a customer information output window in a computer connected to the extension of the consultant in charge. The customer information is displayed on the computer of the consultant when the consultant receives the call. And contents on consultation with the customer are stored in the DB through the computer of the consultant.
