[Also in Division A4] A fixture for connecting two wooden boards 10, 12 at right angles comprises a plastics cupshaped element 1 press fitted into a blind-end bore in the end of board 10 and a locking pin 18 secured in a bore in board 12. The element 1 comprises a cylindrical outer wall 8 and a frusto-conical inner wall 7 separated by a horse-shoe shaped chamber 9, walls 7, 8 merging at one side into a single thicker wall provided with a flat outer surface (4, Fig. 1) and a central axial slot 5, the walls of slot 5 increasing in thickness from the open to the closed end thereof. The pin 18 includes a reduced part 17 of the same width as slot 5, and a head 15 so that when part 17 is inserted into slot 5 the head 15 engages the inner inclined surface of the thicker wall at both sides of the slot 5 and board 10 is drawn against board 12. The pin 18 may include a second head 19 for similarly mounting another board. The second head may comprise a screw (21, Fig. 6), which may include a reduced part (Fig. 7) for mounting another board. The outer surface of wall 8 may include serrations (11, Fig. 1). |
