Yarn cabling and fixing machine has double twist or cabling spindle supporting a reel of yarn to be twisted or cabled with a second yarn, feeder to cancel out the tension resulting from the twisting or cabling, heater followed by a cooling zone, and a winder for the treated yarn. The yarn cabling and fixing machine has a double twist or cabling spindle (1) supporting a reel of yarn (3) destined to be twisted or cabled with a second yarn (4), a feeder (6) to cancel out the tension resulting from the twisting or cabling, a heater (7) followed by a cooling zone, and a winder (11) for the treated yarn. In advance of the heater it incorporates a moisturiser with an aqueous heat exchange fluid (13) and an applicator (12), while the heater itself is in the form of a cylindrical cup (7) with a return guide (8), raised to a predetermined temperature and rotated. The cooling zone has a similar cup (9) and return guide (10).
