The U-shaped roller chock guide for a coupling chain (2) comprises fixings onto the boat and a sheave guide (3) for the chain. There are two parts (4,5) articulated by means of a rod (6), the first associated with fixings onto the boat and the second associated with the sheave guide. The second part is angularly displaceable relative to the first between a retracted position, where the second part of the roller chock is folded on the boat, and an active position where it projects beyond the boat.
