PURPOSE: A low temperature curing printing ink for an artificial marble and an artificial marble using the ink are provided, to enable a print layer of the artificial marble to be cured at a low temperature and to enable the print layer to exhibit excellent hardness and resistance against chemical and impact without a protection layer. CONSTITUTION: The low temperature curing printing ink is prepared by mixing 45-55 wt% of colloidal silica, 20-30 wt% of an inorganic pigment and 3-7 wt% of an additive mixture comprising aluminum oxide (Al2O3), silicon carbide (SiC) and calcium carbonate (CaCO3) in equal quantity with stirring; and uniformly dispersing the obtained mixture to 25-30 wt% of water. The artificial marble is prepared by printing a marble design on a transparent substrate(1) with the printing ink to form a print layer(2); forming a white opaque back layer(3) on any face of the print layer(2) before or after the print layer is formed; and curing it at a room temperature or calcining it. Preferably the calcination is carried out at a low temperature of 120-180 deg.C for 15-25 min. |
