A sloped part high-speed escalator, wherein the moving speed of steps at an intermediate sloped part is set higher than the moving speeds of steps at upper and lower side platforms, risers are projected on the intermediate sloped part to adjacent steps so as to form obtuse angles relative to the step treads of the steps adjacent to lower stage sides, a plurality of riser cleats are installed on the surfaces of the risers, a plurality of projected parts inserted into the riser cleats are provided at the end parts of the step treads, and the end faces of the projected parts opposed to the bottom faces of the riser cleats form sharp angles relative to the step treads.
