PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an illegal use of an external storage medium with written information when using a network connecting function.

SOLUTION: Key information for authenticating a user is written in the external storage medium having the written information necessary for using the network connecting function. This electronic equipment requires the user to input the key information, compares the key information inputted by the user with the key information stored in the external storage medium, and authenticate the user by whether or not they are accorded with each other. This device controls the access to the information stored in the external storage medium based on the result of the authentication.
