PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic camera for limiting an imaging time in a shade state to eliminate noise. SOLUTION: An upper limit TN is placed on a charge storage time TB of fixed image data for noise elimination by an arithmetic circuit 101, wherein the fixed image data resulting from imaging an object by an imaging device 102 for the charge storage time TB while shading the light of the object are subtracted from original image data resulting from imaging the object by the imaging device 102 for the charge storage time TB with the incidence of the light of the object. The upper limit TN is a time within which the imaging device 102 stores maximum electric charges without overflowing storage electric charges by a dark current and calculated as a function of the imaging sensitivity SV set to the imaging device 102 and a temperatureθin the camera. The temperatureθis obtained from a voltage signal Vref outputted from a photometry apparatus 108 and proportional to the absolute temperature. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
