PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To constitute a compact, low-cost and simple receiver which prevents an operating clock signal generated in the receiver from interfering with desired radio waves. SOLUTION: A flow chart in Fig. 2 shows a process directly related to a clock frequency F in 'a receiving frequency band setting block 2' and 'an operating clock setting block 3'. The flow chart includes: a step 220 of inputting a CH control signal; a step 240 of outputting a center frequency f<SB>c</SB>and a band width fBW of a frequency band ch corresponding to a desired channel to the operating clock setting block 3; and a step 260 (subroutine) conducted in the operating clock setting block 3 to obtain a value f satisfying two conditional expressions 'f<SB>c</SB>-fBW/2>(N-1)×f' and 'f<SB>c</SB>+fBW/2<N×f'. If an oscillation frequency F of the operating clock is previously set to the value f satisfying them, the interference with receiving signals (radio waves) can be prevented. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
