<p>A smoke and fire resistant panel can be produced for use in aircraft or other vehicles, by co-curing a phenolic resin with a melamine resin. The resulting panel is lightweight, while complying with FAA rules pertaining to fire and smoke resistance. Additionally, decorative elements may be associated with the melamine resin to hide the dark color exhibited by the cured phenolic resin.</p> |
