<p>A self-cleaning hairbrush system has a housing (12) with a wall (14) formed with apertures (16) and with a hollow interior with an open end (20) and a closed end (22). A core has an interior end positionable adjacent to the closed end (22) and an exterior exposed end (30) extending through the open end (20) of the housing (22). A plurality of resilient bristles (32) have fixed ends (34) extending radially outward from the core and free ends (36) extending through the apertures (16) of the housing (12).
