<p>The user of a communication device (120) selects prefereed services or service providers (112) associated with a communication center (108) which monitors the status of the selected service providers. A service provider provides the communication center withinformation regarding the availability of the service, the service provider, or agents at stations (114). The communication center sends this informtion to the communication device. The communication device then displays this information to the user. The user thus readily knows whether or not the desired service or service provider is available. If available the user can request such service or provider by pressing an indicator (407) or other predetermined key or keys on the communication device and be immediately connected with the desired service or service provider. The status information may be communicated automatically or upon demand.</p> |
