The invention relates to a dialogue system (1) for man-machine communication. Said dialogue system is designed in an especially flexible manner in such a way that its structure can be further modified or adapted, especially in terms of the use of standard components and the interaction thereof. To this end, the inventive dialogue system (1) comprises a dialogue element (4) and a generation element (10) which is connected to the same, and accesses, as required, by means of a stored allocation table (12), a number of modules (6) which are stored in a module memory (8), then selects the same according to the instructions, associates said modules on the basis of a characteristic stored in the allocation table (12) in such a way as to form an operative dialogue module (2), and implements the same on the dialogue element (4). An editor (14) for the allocation table (12) can be called by means of the dialogue module (2), as required.
