A waveguide coupling device comprises a waveguide section (1) in which a guided wave may be propagated in at least one waveguide mode and which has two slits (4, 5) in one of its walls (2). The waveguide mode has a field component parallel to the slotted wall with a nodal plane oriented in the longitudinal direction of the waveguide section, and/or it induces in the walls of the waveguide section (1, 1') a wall current distribution with just such a nodal plane. The slits (4, 5) lie on opposing sides of the nodal plane. The slits (4, 5) lie on opposing sides of the nodal plane. One or two antenna sections (7', 9') bridge the first slit (4) or both slits (4, 5).
