PURPOSE: Provided is a river natural purification apparatus capable of being constructed at low cost, easily discharging sludge of contact media, reducing sludge generation, and continuously reserving a predetermined amount of running water. CONSTITUTION: The apparatus comprises a water influent facilities including a movable crossbar installed at the bottom of influent water tank, a water collecting well and a strainer in the influent water tank, an aeration diffuser provided around the strainer; a contact tank formed by digging the bottom of downstream of the river; compartment cloths(17) for separating the contact tank, an iron structure installed in the contact tank and including a water influent pipe(20), a washing water influent pipe and a sludge outlet(22); a contact bed(16) filled in the contact tank, a waterproof cloth(18) for covering the contact bed(16) at sides and the top thereof; rubbles(19) on the waterproof cloth.
