METHOD FOR UPGRADING FPGA PROGRAM AT REMOTE PLACE

PURPOSE: A remote FPGA(Field Programmable Gate Array) program upgrading method is provided to upgrade collectively FPGA programs at a control center located at a remote place without resetting a communication system or board. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises several steps. Register bits of an FPGA device are defined and get matched with I/O pins(S1). The I/O pins are connected to an external configuration device(S2). An FPGA program is downloaded from an external network(S3), and is stored at a memory of a control device(S4). The FPGA program is input into the external configuration device via JTAG(Joint Test Action Group) port connection pins(S5). The register bits previously defined at the FPGA device are set(S6), Then the new program is loaded at the FPGA device, and immediately is applied(S7).
