PURPOSE: A supply chain planning system and method is provided to construct a virtual supply chain by using an SCM(Supply Chain Management) model and a time scheduling scheme, and to plan an optimal SCM by using a genetic algorithm. CONSTITUTION: The system comprises a raw material model(100), an operation model(200), a capacity model(300), a stock model(400), and a link model(500). The operation model(200) changes a state of the raw material offered by the raw material model(100). The capacity model(300) means resources necessary for performing an operation. The stock model(400) registers a half-finished or a fully finished product processed in the operation model(200). The link model(500) links the operation model(200) to the other models(100, 300, 400). The link model(500) defines a relation between the raw material model(100) and the operation model(200) by using the quantity of the raw material and the input time, a relation between the operation model(200) and the capacity model(300) by using the numerical production capacity and the input time, and a relation between the operation model(200) and the stock model(400) by using the quantity of the product and the shipment time.
