PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power supply controller for use in supplying power to a power-supplied device via a USB connector the controller of which is small in circuitry scale and low in power consumption. SOLUTION: The power supply controller comprises a power-storing means (secondary battery 42) for storing power supplied from a power supply unit (USB interface 20); a controller (USB power supply control portion 30) which controls a power-supplied device (magnetic disk write/read portion 50), when the power-supplied device in operation and out of operation and further controls power supply from the power supply unit, when the power-supplied device is in operation and the charging of the power storing means from the power supply unit when the power-supplied device is out of operation; and a power supply detecting means (voltage-monitoring circuit 37) which monitors power supply through a power line 21. If the power detected by the power supply detecting means exceeds upper-limit power when the power-supplied device is in operation, power is supplied from the power storage means to the power- supplied device.
