PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly reliable multidirectional operation switch in which the current capacity of the switch pattern can respond to an increase in the current capacity of the device. SOLUTION: There are provided a casing 1 having four sets of common contacts 1a, first contacts 1b and second contacts 1c; a pair of operation plates 4 rotatable in two axial directions; a lever 3 inserted in a long hole 4b of each operation plate 4; sliders 5 at both ends of each operation plate 4; an actuator 6 provided at the tip of each slider 5; and a movable contact 7 which comes in contact with the common contact 1a by being pressed by the actuator 6 and makes a seesaw movement. One of the operation plates 4 is turned around its axis by oscillating the lever 3 to cause the movable contact 7 to make a seesaw movement, thereby establishing continuity between the common contact 1a and the first contact 1b in two sets. Oscillating the lever 3 in the opposite direction establishes continuity between the common contact 1a and the second contact 1c in two groups. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
