PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrical interconnection system capable of transmitting signals at a data rate equal to 5-10 Gb/sec higher. SOLUTION: This interconnection system includes spacers aligned in a row so as to be adjacent to each other, each of these spacers having a cable disposed therein. Each cable has at least a central conductor and an outer conductive shield. All the cables have one end exposed on a first surface, and a second end exposed on a second surface. Conductive contacts are placed in an opening of a pair of inserts so that the one end makes electrical contact with one of the cables and the other end extends through the opening corresponding to the insert corresponding to the other end.
