PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a route guide technique for enabling a user to navigate to a destination on a route guide service screen, based on the present position information, etc., when the user designates the destination from a portable telephone terminal familiar to the user. SOLUTION: The system includes a portable telephone terminal 1 having a position information sensor and an azimuth sensor, a portable telephone communication network 2 and a route guide service server 3. When a portable telephone user designates a destination from the portable telephone terminal 1, information of the destination are sent to the service server 3, together with output information of the position information sensor and the azimuth sensor and time information, and the server 3 calculates route guide information toward the destination and provides azimuth information toward the designation in real time on a display screen of the portable telephone terminal 1 of the portable telephone user.
