PURPOSE: A YRO4-based (R is As, Nb, P, V) blue fluorescent substance for a plasma display panel and its preparation method are provided, wherein the blue fluorescent substance has an excellent luminance efficiency at VUV and a good color purity and the luminance intensity of blue fluorescent substance can be controlled according to the composition of an activator and the composition. CONSTITUTION: The YRO4-based blue fluorescent substance is represented by Y(NbmP1-m-nVn)O4, wherein 0.02<m<0.10 and 0.02<n<0.10. Also the YRO4-based blue fluorescent substance is represented by Y(AslNbmP1-l-m-nVn)O4, wherein 0.02<l<0.4, 0.02 <m<0.10 and 0.02<n<0.3. The method comprises the steps of preparing a fluorescent substance composition; preparing metal ion solution and mixing them according to the composition; drying them and calcining the dried one at 1,100-1,300 deg.C. |
