PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor in which optimal color correction can be carried out depending on the type of images, e.g. character, photograph, and the like, while reducing the memory capacity, an image forming apparatus comprising it, an image processing method, a program and a recording medium. SOLUTION: In color correction processing for converting color image data consisting of a first color model into color image data consisting of a second color model using a lookup table, the lookup table comprises a first color conversion table T1, a second color conversion table T2 and a third color conversion table T3 of smaller size than the first color conversion table. Any one of color correction values outputted from the first through third color conversion tables is selected based on a signal for deciding whether the color image data consisting of the first color model falls within a specified range or not, an area identification signal, an image mode signal, and the like.
